Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn Ya

Words By Keri Johnson
Music By Josh Geller

It ain’t the words you said to me
It’s just the way I never made you take them back
It ain’t the way you screamed at me
It’s the way you played that game because the cards were stacked

Now tell me what went wrong?
Why does this have to be the song that I sing for you honey?
Ain’t like you wanted my money

Understand that I’m a man
Because I never made you have to choose
I’m guaranteed to lose
You ain’t got the juice

   [CHORUS]

   DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YA!
Don’t even try to love me
   Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!
Don’t even try to love me

I ‘d rather be a sucker for life
   Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!

Damn! The fact I wasted my time
Play tricks, like you, on my mind
You can bet I’m about to find

A better way live
A better way to give
Oh my heart’s got to be good for something!

Don’t bother asking questions
Because it just ain’t no use
Gotta shake them nasty pictures loose!

I was fooled, but you got schooled
Because I never made you have to choose
You’re guaranteed to lose
You ain’t got the juice

   [CHORUS]

   DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YA!
Don’t even try to love me
   Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!
Don’t even try to love me

I ‘d rather be a sucker for life
   Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!

Recording Process Begins

UFD is back in the studio. We had some technical difficulties that led to starting over. Oops.

The recording process is torture. One moment you like what you hear. Elation. The next day you hate it. Dissapointment. This goes on hour-to-hour, day-to-day, until you are finally finished. Once you are done, you finally assign your emotion to each song (or parts of songs). Yesterday was pretty good, though. I think you will like what you hear when we are done. A little bit of growth on our part.

How do you feel when you work on your personal artistic projects??

Optical Illusion?

Is that an optical illusion? There’s nothing like a trip to the Pumpkin Patch to get the creative juices flowing. I recieved an email with a link to that cool optical illusion, and decided to post it to the UFD server. I sent a link to 20 people on October 25th. The count now has a life of it’s own. Check it and see.

Happy Re-living Halloween

I was just playing around with a new UFD slideshow, and I happened upon this photo from the oldest set of images on the UFD server. Halloween 2000 headlining 14 Below with James Marsters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This was the heyday of UFD. James Marsters brought a lot of fans to the UFD shows, and many of his fans still hang with UFD today. This was the only show where Marsters performed in his “Spike” makeup. To see the halloween party photos (Chuck in drag, Keri as jailbird), just page through the slideshow albums to the very end. (click the little icon in the lower left hand corner to see the 5 pages of albums).

Chuck’s mum say’s, “Hello”

Chuck’s mom came by for a visit with Keri, and to hear what Chuck’s new 5-string bass sounds like in the studio. Did I say “new 5-string” and “studio” in the same sentence? Yes. Contrary to recent rumours of UFD’s imminent demise, we are back in the studio recording new material. You’ll have to be patient , though. There is no longer anybody piloting the plane. So who knows when and if we will land some completed, mixed tracks.

Snazzy Hurricane Benefit Photos

Check out this cool night photo taken of Matt on the outdoor plaza of the Bonaventure Brewing Company. Vince took a bunch of cool shots where he did a kind of multiple exposure. There are more images on the new UFD Slideshow.

UFD Site Revamp - Blogstyle

Hello all. UFD will experiment with a new website format that will allow for more open communication between the band members and the public at large. So far, only one person has been posting content to the site. With the new setup, others will be able to post content, and enter a dialog with friends and fans.

This setup is provided by Blogger. It is basically a weblog. I haven’t decided if it is best, or if we should be using some sort of BBS. In the meantime, this will be a fun experiment to see if anything happens. We may even set up a few private blogs for individuals in the band who have a lot to say. We are open to suggestions.
